Classic Peninsula Valdes

We begin the day picking you up from your accommodations in Puerto Madryn, setting off on a journey that will take us to discover one of the world’s great natural treasures: the Valdés Peninsula, declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site (reserve entrance not included). After an hour’s drive, we arrive at Puerto Pirámides, a charming coastal village where the sea and wildlife take center stage. Here we have the opportunity to take the traditional boat-based whale watching excursion (included): from June to November, we are moved by the presence of the southern right whale; while between December and March, the boat trip allows us to observe sea lions and cormorants.

Each season offers its own natural spectacle. We continue our journey to Punta Cantor, where the vastness of the Atlantic Ocean and the unique geography of Caleta Valdés take us by surprise — a one-of-a-kind setting where, depending on the time of year, we can observe elephant seals resting on the shore. Depending on the day and wildlife activity, this visit may be replaced by Punta Norte. Throughout the route, land wildlife also accompanies us: guanacos, rheas, foxes, and maras roam freely, adding unexpected moments to the experience. Before heading back, we visit the Carlos Ameghino Interpretation Center, where we gain a deep understanding of the richness of this ecosystem. We live an intense, diverse, and profoundly natural day — the kind that makes you want to return to Patagonia again and again.

Season: Excursion all year. Whale watching by boat mid-June to early December. Marine fauna watching by boat from the end of December to the end of March. Between April and mid-June there will be no navigation of any kind.
