TOUR PENÍNSULA VALDÉS - UNESCO WORLD HERITAGE SITE - SOUTHERN CIRCUIT
Tour Peninsula Valdés – Unesco World Heritage Site -Southern Circuit
This tour is operated all year round and has an estimated duration of 10 hours.
We depart early in the morning towards the Wildlife Reserve Peninsula Valdes, UNESCO World Heritage Site.
After a one-hour drive we arrive in Puerto Piramides, where we join a boat tour (optional) to see Southern Right Whales (Eubalaena australis) between June and December, and Southern Sea lions (Otaria flavescens) and cormorants between January and March. No boat tours operate in Puerto Piramides April and May.
Around noon we leave for Punta Delgada, an area of high cliffs, to eat lunch (not included) at the Lighthouse complex. We will also walk down the cliff and get closer to the beach to observe the stunning Southern elephant seals (Mirounga leonina) the world’s largest seals that arrive every year to breed and shed. We continue our journey to Punta Cantor to observe a distinctive geographical feature known as Caleta Valdes, a large inlet home to unique wildlife. Finally, we drive back to Puerto Madryn, making a stop at Visitor Centre on the Ameghino Isthmus. Along the way, we may run into wild rheas, tinamous, guanacos, foxes, cavies and armadillos.
Season: Operable from July (with the opening of Punta Delgada) until the end of March.
Main Attractives: Whale watching (July to mid December) or nautical walk (mid December to March), lamb on the spit, sea elephants, terrestrial fauna.

Route: 400 km approximately (200 km by asphalt and 200 km by gravel).
