Gaiman and the Chubut River Valley

Gaiman shows a clear mixture of culture and history of the Welsh settlement. It is situated 18 Km from Trelew and 80 km from Puerto Madryn. Gaiman, as well as Trelew, lies in the Chubut River Valley and, for this reason, it can also be thought of as an oasis in the large dry ecosystem of the northeast of Chubut. It is a small village with less than 10,000 inhabitants who are mainly engaged in farming activities. Gaiman’s main attraction stands on both its high number of typical Welsh buildings and the historic and cultural events that take place in the village.

In this colourful context, every afternoon the traditional tea-houses open their doors. There you will enjoy the best homemade cakes, bread and tarts of the traditional Welsh cuisine.
